Detailed Itinerary – 10 Days Uganda Safari
Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe and Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Immediately after landing in the pearl of Africa in Entebbe international airport, meet with your driver who will transfer you to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary which is a home to 32 southern white rhinos in Nakasongola district which takes approximately 3 hours and 14 minutes. Check in your hotel, have lunch and rest for some time because later you will go for a shoebill canoe ride in Lugogo swamp. This is a great opportunity to see other water birds like the African jacana, the three different Kingfisher birds and many more. Later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Rhino tracking, Birding and a Night guided walk
After an early morning, you will meet with your guide at exactly 8:00am for a briefing with your packed lunch, afterwards you will embark on a guided Rhino trek on foot with a ranger which will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on where the rhinos are spending their day and after encountering the rhinos, you will proceed with birding which is likely to take approximately 5 hours. Later on retire to the hotel for dinner as you prepare for a night guided walk which is a unique activity where you will be able to see all the nocturnal bird species. Return to the hotel overnight.

Day3: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park and hike to the top of the falls
Early in the morning after breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet your driver who will transfer you to Murchison Falls national park and on your way when you’re about to cross River Kafu, the driver will slow down as you get a clear photo or video of one of Uganda’s great safari feature as you proceed to Murchison falls national park. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in and rest. Wake up for lunch and after that you will hike to the top of the falls for beautiful scenic views of the park as well as bird watching an interesting experience. Reaching to the top of the falls is a breathtaking moment as you witness the thunderous sound of the falls as the river squeezes through a small 7- meter gap. Later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise
After your morning breakfast, you will meet your guides and rangers to start your journey of exploring Murchison falls national park in its delightful rolling plains where you will encounter the African big 5 as well as other wild animals during your game drive. Return at the hotel and wait for lunch and immediately after having lunch, you will head out for a boat cruise on the world’s longest river known as River Nile at the bottom of the falls. While on the boat, you will view different wildlife and birds such as the hippos, crocodiles and water birds giant kingfisher, Grey-headed kingfisher, Osprey and many others. Later retire to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National park
Advance to Kibale after a heavy breakfast since it’s a long drive which will take approximately 7 hours via the scenic routes and you will have a lunch stopover in fort portal which is one of the most beautiful green and clean city in Uganda. After lunch, you will stop by the Tooro Kingdom ruled by the youngest King and you will get to know its history as well as the western culture of Uganda. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in your rooms, refresh and dinner will be served. After dinner, rest as you recharge for the next day’s adventure awaits you.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking, Birding at Bigodi wetland Sanctuary
Early in the morning, Freshen up and have your breakfast on time since chimpanzee tracking starts at 07:30 am. You will have a briefing about the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking will take approximately 2-5 hours depending on their location. Luckily there are rangers ahead who make it a bit less challenging and it’s a guarantee that you will encounter the chimpanzee which are the closest relatives to humans. This is an interesting experience where by you will get a chance to view other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys and the Ugandan red Colobus. The chimpanzees are familiar with visitors and when you encounter one of the chimpanzee group, you are only allowed to spend 1 hour observing them. Return for lunch at the lodge and later in the afternoon you will go for birding. Bigodi wetland is one of the best bird watching destination where you can spot over 50 different bird species like the Grand Blue Turaco as well as different primates. Retire to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 7: Nature walk, Hiking and crater lakes tour
After a relax morning meal, you will go for a guided nature walk as well as hiking through the tropical forest. During this fascinating nature walk, you will meet more primates and the forest Elephants which is one of the African big 5. You will as well explore the captivating open savannah plains which depicts a beautiful scenery and later return for lunch. Later in the late afternoon, you will go for a crater lakes tour in Kasenda which has over 50 crater lakes enclosed off by the steep volcanic slopes. You will hike to the top of the volcanic slopes for a better view of the crater lakes. End the day and return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 8: Visit to the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru and transfer to Lake Mburo national park
After breakfast, prepare and check out of your lodge and meet with your driver who will transfer you to Lake Mburo national park on your way, you will stop in Fort portal and visit Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru. These are rocks with a strong cultural attachment to the Batoro and according to its history, it is referred to as a place of wonder. There is a waterfall near the caves which is worth paying a visit. Later on, proceed on your journey to Lake Mburo national park and upon arrival, check-in, have lunch and rest as dinner will be served at night.

Day 9: Game drive, Boat cruise and night safari
On this day, you will go for a game driver after having your breakfast. You will have a wonderful view of the vast wildlife including the members of the African big 5 found in this park despite the fact that it is the smallest park in Uganda. This is an amazing opportunity to see a big number of wildlife, lunch will be served at the hotel and after lunch, you will go for a boat cruise which guarantees a clear view of the flora and fauna found in this park. In the late evening, you will go for a night safari in the savannah plains of the park mainly to view the nocturnal animals. Later retire to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Departure
