5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari Uganda
This 5 Days Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari Uganda takes you to two of Uganda’s most visited National Parks; Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is in the Western Region of Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. The park is approximately 400km (250 mi) by road southwest of Kampala, Uganda’s capital. Queen Elizabeth National Park occupies an estimated 1,978kmsq. The park extends from Lake George in the northeast to Lake Edward in the southwest and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its wildlife, including African buffalo, Ugandan kob, hippopotamus, Nile crocodile, African bush elephant, African leopard, lion, and chimpanzee. It is home to 95 mammal species and over 500 bird species. The area around Ishasha in Rukungiri District is famous for its tree-climbing lions.
You will also visit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in Southwestern Uganda in the Kanungu district along the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) border next to the Virunga National Park and on the edge of the Albertine Rift. The impenetrable forest protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas-roughly half of the world’s population including several habituated groups which can be tracked.
It is also host to a rich fauna including a number of the endemic butterflies and one of the richest mammalian assemblages in Africa.
