Detailed Itinerary: Exclusive 7 Days Rwanda Safari (Primates Tracking & Wildlife)
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
This day is reserved for transfer to volcanoes national park. After your breakfast, you will drive to Rwanda crossing the border to Volcanoes national park. On arrival, you will check into your lodge. Later in the evening, you will walk to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund institute to learn more about mountain gorillas and how Dian Fossey fought for the remaining mountain gorillas in the Wild. Dinner and overnight stay at Davinci Gorilla Lodge.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Tracking
After an early morning breakfast, your guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the endangered Golden monkey after which you will drive to the starting point. The hike is normally medium to easy since golden monkeys live in communities. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon do a cultural walk where you will learn more about the people and culture of Rwanda. You will then return to the Lodge for an evening and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park
On this day, you will leave the lodge for Nyungwe national park early in the morning. The drive has some of the amazing sceneries in Rwanda with Lake Kivu in the background. You will arrive later in the afternoon at your lodge for an evening and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking
Chimpanzee trekking is an intimate experience with the forest and its inhabitants. Your driver guide will transfer you from your lodge to the briefing area in the forest where you are expected as early as 5.00 am. Depending on how big the group is for tracking on a particular day, the ranger guide will divide the group so that one starts at the Uwinka trailhead and the other at the Cyamudongo trailhead. The ranger guide will share chimpanzee trekking tips for you while in the forest. In case you need to drive to starting point depending on the trailhead you were located; your driver guide will be waiting to transfer you. The forest is rich with botanical diversity and home to 13 species of primates including Ruwenzori colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, silver monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, etc. About 300 bird species with a number of Albertine rift endemics and several butterfly species.
After you will return to the lodge to recuperate from the chimp trekking.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali and stop at the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza
This day is reserved for a transfer to Kigali and a visit to Kings Palace in Nyanza. After breakfast, you will hit the road to Rwanda’s Capital city Kigali. On your way, you will pass by the King’s palace museum in Nyanza to learn more about how the king lived as a God and the extent of his
Kingdom (The Kingdom of Rwanda). After you will continue to Kigali, reaching in the evening for an evening and overnights start at Kigali Serena or Ubumwe Grand Hotel.

Day 6: Kigali City Tour
Kigali is one of the fastest-growing cities in East Africa. But to know Rwanda well and the driving force behind it, one needs to visit Rwanda’s past and see how far Rwanda has come. The city tour rewards you on this by visiting the Kigali Genocide memorial, Camp Kigali, and the Local market in Kimironko to get a round experience of how Rwandan live. On the drive, through Kigali, you will see the Parliament Rwanda which has 60% ladies and 40% Men. You will later return to your hotel for an evening and overnight stay.

Day 7: Departure
Depending on your flight schedule, your guide will transfer you to the Airport for your flight to your next destination.
