Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will be picked up by our company guide from Kigali for a transfer to Nyungwe Forest National park. En route; visit the Murambi genocide Memorial site, Butare King’s museum as well as Nyanza King’s palace. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge( Luxury), Nyungwe Top View Lodge( Midrange0 and Gisakura lodge(Budget).
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk
Rise early , have breakfast and assemble at the park offices by 6:00 am, attend the briefing on the code of conduct when tracking for chimpanzees and later embark on your expedition through the woods of Nyungwe Forest. Expect to see various primate species like the colobus monkeys, Silver monkeys, the Grey cheeked Mangabey, L’hoests monkey and other wild animals (elephants, giraffes etc.) and the humming, singing and whistling early. In the afternoon engage in a guided Forest Canopy Walk though not for the light hearted. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge( Luxury), Nyungwe Top View Lodge( Midrange0 and Gisakura lodge(Budget).
Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Have breakfast and get ready for a transfer to Volcanoes National Park; reaching in the evening. Dine and rest at Mountain View Gorilla Lodge( luxury), Davinci Lodge ( Midrange) and The Garden Place( Budget).
Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trek and Iby’wacu Cultural Center
Rise early morning, enjoy breakfast and assemble at the Kinigi Park offices by 7:00 am; for morning briefing on the code of conduct when trekking for mountain gorillas. After this, embark on your amazing expedition and on meeting the gorillas, enjoy an hour observing their behavior as they continue with their daily activities in your presence; not forgetting to take photographs and videos for this memorable encounter.
In the afternoon, take a visit to the Iby’wacu Cultural Center for local entertainment from the indigenous people of Rwanda. Dinner and over night at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Davinci Gorilla Lodge (Midrange) The Garden Place (Budget)
Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking and Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.
Upon rising, enjoy breakfast and assemble at the Kinigi Park offices by 7:00 am; for morning briefing on the code of conduct when tracking for golden monkeys. After this, embark on your amazing expedition and on meeting these playful and inquisitive shy creatures, enjoy an hour observing their behavior as they continue with their daily activities in your presence; jumping form tree to tree ; quite interesting to watch.
At the end of this encounter, you will return to the starting, meet your guide for a drive back to your lodge. After Lunch, take a stride to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Kivu
Upon rising, enjoy breakfast and set off for Lake Kivu in Gisenyi province; visiting the Mirambi Genocide site, Butare King’s palace among others. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel ( Luxiury), Palm Gradens (Midrange) and Paradise Marahide (Budget)
Day 7: Nyamirundi Boat ride and Departure
After breakfast, you will enjoy a morning boat ride to the Nyamirundi Island , learn more about the coffee manufacturing process and in the afternoon, following your lunch, you will set off for Kigali for drop off at either a hotel / airport.
