Detailed Itinerary – 7 Days Uganda Primates Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On arrival at the airport you will meet and greet with our guide who will then transfer you to Kigali for the night’s rest on arrival check into the hotel dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: City tour and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
You will rise early to eat your breakfast before you head for the city tour where you will visit the genocide memorials museum and other pictorial places in the city have lunch and drive to Lake Bunyonyi. The lake is also known as the second deepest in Africa. You will Seattle in on arrival enjoy the breeze, check in and later dinner and a night’s sleep.
Day 3: Morning boat and transfer to Kibale National Park.
Rise early to engage in the early morning boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. Having had breakfast you will then embark on the boat along the lake as you view the nearest islands there after which you will have your lunch meal and then drive to kibale forest national park where you will check in on arrival dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee habituation and evening Bigodi swamp walk.
Wake to a nice breakfast meal with your packed since the chimp habituation may take you some good time in the forest .head to Kanyanchu the park headquarter offices for your chimpanzee tracking of habituated families where you will see other primates like the colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys plus other primates that share this forest with chimpanzees. Track chimps in their natural habitat. Kibale Forest National Park is believed to have most concentration of primates in the world. Enjoy a lot of plant life with tall tropical tree species. Afternoon you will visit Bigodi swamp for natural walk. Visit the surrounding villages interacting with locals exploring the eco-tourism activities in the area like tea estates, after this will drive back to for dinner and overnight at your lodge
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi
Today you rise early eat breakfast and hit the road to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest where you will be partaking your gorilla trekking activity the following day. With lunch enroute you will proceed to the park and on arrival in Bwindi impenetrable forest you will check in at the lodge dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking and afternoon free.
Today you will rise early eat breakfast and be certain to have your packed lunch and drinking water from the lodge since you will need it during your activity. You will then be driven to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts before you penetrate the forest. After briefing you will be headed to the forest in company of the ranger guides who will keep you in the right direction through the trek. You may spend quite some time depending on the gorilla’s movement. The trek may seem strenuous but the result is breath taking .you will hike on till you meet the mountain gorillas. On seeing them you will watch them play feed and showcase other tactics take as many photos as you can with the gorillas up close and after the 1hour you will then exit the forest back to the pack headquarters for certificate awarding. You will then head into the car and be driven back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kigali.
You will have breakfast and be transferred to Kigali to catch your flight to your next destination and this will make the end of your 7 days trip.
