Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is one of the most prominent and arguably the best place in Africa founded in 1998 which acts as chimpanzee refuge habitat with over 52 human-friendly chimpanzees and it offers the best opportunity to observe orphaned Chimpanzee behavior and interaction up close in their natural environment. Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is a rainforest Island sanctuary situated on Lake Victoria and it is part of the Koome group of islands located in Lake Victoria, approximately 23km southeast of the city of Entebbe. While at the island, you will have a clear view of the chimps and great photographic opportunities
Safari Highlights: 1 Day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide/driver who will transfer you to the pier where you will board a speed boat on Lake Victoria to Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary which will take approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival at the island, you will visit neighboring fishing villages and also go birding till the afternoon. You will then go for the afternoon session of chimpanzee feeding and caregiving and during this caregiving session, you will have a tour of the Sanctuary alongside experienced guides and chimp caregivers hence you will be able to learn more about the chimps. You will have a fascinating memory of a lifetime while with these extremely nice and human-friendly great apes.
You will have a Lunch break and afterward, take a boat cruise to Entebbe at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center. While at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center, you will have a great opportunity of viewing a variety of protected wild animals in different sections, and later you will meet your safari driver who will drop you off at your booked hotel in Entebbe or Kampala.
